"I Believe, But..."

I BELIEVE, BUT… Mark 9. 14-29 I.  OPENING:  What is faith?  A.  For many of us…we want to ______ but… B.  Is faith the absence of ________? II.  NEXT WEEK WE BEGIN “BELIEVE” A.  Many people deal with questions, _______, and uncertainties  B.  Not designed to make you believe something you don’t want to believe  III.  OFTEN PEOPLE TELL YOU:  there are ___ Options for believing A.  Yes, or No!  Either you believe, or you don’t B.  Yet _____ of us operate on more of a continuum of belief. IV.  TWO KINDS OF DOUBTS A.  Intellectual: B.  _____________ V.  FAITH AND DOUBT: they seem to go together. A.  Jesus was exasperated by the doubting crowd and struggling disciples but the father’s doubts did not negate the miracle B.  Sometimes being honest with Jesus about our doubts and our struggles can be liberating, and a create closer _____________. VI.  FAITH IS NOT THE ABSENCE OF DOUBT, BUT ______, STEPPING OUT IN SPITE OF THE DOUBTS.
