"Why People Do Not Go To Church"
Hebrews 10. 23-27

WHY PEOPLE DO NOT GO TO CHURCH Hebrews10. 23-27 I.  WHY DO PEOPLE                 GO TO CHURCH? A.  We live in a time in nation’s history when church attendance is on the decline. B.  It seems that for many people church has become a “____-essential.”  II. THERE ARE LOTS OF REASONS WHY PEOPLE DON’T GO TO CHURCH.              A.  Sometimes People Don’t Know That We ________ B.  The Church Did Not Meet Their Needs  C.  There are a huge percentage of persons who have ______  _____ to church in their life III.  THE CHURCH HAS BECOME A NON-ESSENTIAL IN MANY WAYS A.  Life _________ have caused disconnects for people , and they just never got “re-connected” B.  Perhaps the church didn’t reach out…at the right time IV.  WHAT CAN WE DO TO             THE WORLD THAT CHURCH IS ESSENTIAL TO US?  Heb. 10.23-27 A.  Deeper            in Jesus- “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess for He who promised is faithful” - church must be about Jesus. B.  Be outward focused-  “let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” C.  Be an                - “let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another…” D.  Godliness- “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only the fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.”  (v 26-27) V.  CONCLUSION: YOUR             IS NEEDED A.  Intentional effort by worshippers to help make our church essential to others B.  Why do people NOT go to church?  Lots of reasons…But Ultimately People & the World ______ need the church.  C.  YOU CAN HELP!  You can help your church be essential, loving, caring, and impacting to people’s lives.

The Landmine of Compromise 1 Kings 11. 1-13            I.    ____________- A.  Began as a man of God, and greatly blessed B.  Compromised his faith, and thus compromised his _________’s lives   II.  Sometimes Affluence & Pride Affect Us A.  We think we know _______ & are ______ enough not to get caught B.  Our Pride, affluence, and lack of diligent faithfulness can lead us the wrong way and hurt us far more than we realize III.  Each of us Have a Sphere of _______- We touch many lives A.  We can influence for _____, or _____- positive or negative B.  Our calling is to be Church with a Heart for Jesus - To touch lives in _________, godly, loving ways. IV.  The Importance of Remembering the _________ A.  As a Christian your calling and mine is to reach others   B.  You may help change that one _______, or that one family- Little things may not be so little C.  Sermon Goal: A renewed commitment to ______  ____ to others with at Heart for Jesus. D.  Keeping your covenant with God & Church takes renewed commitment and resolute determination.  V.  As a Church ____ Also Have a Calling and Purpose: (Heart for Jesus) A.  Sometimes we can lose our ______, and forget about “lost people” and our call to reach family and friends and neighbors. B.  How quickly we can discover that those other things we have allowed into our lives…don’t help.  VI.  Challenge A.   A deeper & stronger ___________ to our commitment to Jesus & our Godly Calling- individually & as a Church B.  A renewed commitment to reach out to others with at Heart for Jesus.

C.  The discourtesy of the ______________. D.  The Lord’s apparent refusal was a testing of this mother s faith. IV. A MOTHER S ______________ A.  Faith gives the ___________ B.  This woman possessed two wonderful characteristics: _________ and faith. C.  Finally, she was rewarded by the healing of her daughter: V.  TWO CONCLUSIONS:  A.  # 1- ________  ___ Praying · Though the years have gone by, don’t give up —silence does not mean God does not care. · Mothers, ____________  ____ ____ for that son or daughter who is still walking in the ways of sin.  Grandmothers…don’t give up. B.  # 2- ______ could be an answer to a mother/grandmother’s prayer? · The Lord can change your life for the better in “wonderful ways” and that’s what your mother may be praying for most of all!  · Why not let this be the day when her prayers are finally    answered?
