 “DEAD TO SIN, ALIVE TO CHRIST”

      I.  IT’S A NEW ____________!

B.  We have begun a new SPIRITUAL DAY!
C.  Still a big part of our spiritual day is ____________

II.  PAUL WRITES ABOUT THE ___________ AS THOUGH  IT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED:

A.  In some ways it has already happened…New Day has begun
B.  In some ways I am still _________... I still struggle against sin

III.  THUS  I AM STILL REQUIRED TO __________

A.  According to Paul’s instructions there are choices to be made
B.  Yet in a POSITIVE SENSE, Jesus has _______ sin’s power!  I CANchoose righteousness… I ___  choose the God honoring things.
C.  What I should have earned for my previous sinful living- is death.
D.  But what I have received  is __________
      
IV.  Does It Matter How I Live?    IT ABSOLUTELY _________ !

A.  Jesus set me free from any obligation to sin or to death
B.  If I walk with Jesus, and honor my commitments to Him, then I enjoy the “_____ of God.”
C.  Our wealth and blessings are priceless…because they are a gift from our Heavenly Father

"How to Get a Ticket to Paradise"
Romans 4


HOW TO GET A TICKET
ROMANS 4
I.  DO YOU HAVE A TICKET?  (Analogy from previous message).
A.  Nobody is ________- thus nobody is able to enter God’s righteous Kingdom
B.  God will give us a ticket…A RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM ______
II.  THE TICKET HAS BEEN PAID FOR:  by Jesus Christ
A.  Justified freely by his ______
B.  God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement through faith in his blood (v.25)
III.  HOW DOES ONE GET A TICKET TO PARADISE?  BY ________
A.  Righteousness is used 9x - in Romans 4
B.  Faith 7x - in Romans 4;  Believe/trust 4x
IV.  ____________- AN EXAMPLE OF ONE WHO HAD FAITH
A.  What does the scripture say?  Abraham __________  God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” (4.3)
B.  Abraham was fully persuaded that God was able to do what he had promised (v. 21)
C.  The truth about “righteousness by faith” … is not just for Abraham, Paul says:  “but also for ___ to whom God will credit righteousness- for ___  who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.”
