"Our Universal Need"
Romans 1:18-2:29

OUR UNIVERSAL NEED Romans 1: 18- 2.29 Opening Sentence: It has been said that a clear conscience is just the result of a bad memory. **The theme of Romans 1-2:   We all have a universal need: salvation from the righteous wrath of God. I.  THE GOSPEL IS THE  ______ OF GOD FOR SALVATION  **In order to fully explain the Good News of Salvation, Paul first shows the Universal Problem of All Mankind. II.  THE WRATH OF GOD REVEALED FROM __________(V. 18-19) A.  God has made it plain about himself since the beginning…(v. 20) B.  So, God “_____  _____  _____”  C.  If people refuse to believe in God, then they rationalize that there is no need to feel guilty for sin…since there really isn’t any sin III.  EXAMPLES – of man’s futile thinking, and utter foolishness: A.  _______ of sinful sexual desires… commonplace in many Roman provinces B.  Other examples of man’s foolish thinking and utter foolishness C.  Depraved _______ lead to horrible actions- Paul lists some. V.  THE WRATH OF GOD: A.  Has been seen in past times- already being revealed from heaven (v. 18) B.  The main judgement day lies ________ C.  God says to us here in Romans- “My presence and power and creation are obvious to all.”  No ________. VI.  PAUL SAYS: THERE IS _______ **Salvation from God’s deserved wrath is available to all who put faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
