"What is Due Caesar?  What is Due God?"
Matthew 22. 15-22

WHAT IS DUE GOD?  Matthew 22. 15-12 I.  SHOULD WE PAY ______ TO CAESAR? A.  If Jesus said “NO- _______ PAY TAXES” Jesus would be guilty of treason against Roman government B.  If Jesus said “YES- PAY YOUR TAXES” he would alienate his ___________ II.  JESUS TURNED THE ___________ AROUND A.  He called them on what they were doing… “trying to trap me” B.  He looked at them and said, “______ to Caesar what is due Caesar.  And give to God what is due God.” C.  In this passage Jesus makes a valid point for ___ III.  JESUS SAID THAT THERE IS SOMETHING ___ OWE CAESAR A.  Sometimes we get pretty disgusted with politicians B.  Caesar is frustrating to us.  But, what about Jesus’ statement- GIVE TO GOD WHAT IS DUE GOD! IV.  SO, ________ IS DUE TO GOD? A.  FINANCIAL RESOURCES are due to God B.  CHEERFUL __________ is due God! V.  WHAT ELSE IS DUE GOD? WORSHIP- WHAT’S THE POINT? Psalm 84. 1-4 & 10-12 I.  WHAT IS WORSHIP? A.  What it isn’t B.  What God doesn’t appreciate · sacrifices that are empty · long prayers and rituals that are not from our hearts C.  Appreciation of God’s worthiness II.  MY GOALS FOR YOUR WORSHIP: “Inspiring Worship” A.  That worshippers would WORSHIP WITH  ____________________ B.  That worshippers would ENJOY WORSHIP C.  That worshippers would encourage others and be encouraged by others.   D.  That worshippers would RECEIVE A BLESSING FROM GOD’S WORD AND HIS HEART                                          People need to feel the compass                                                          sion and strength of our Holy God                                                     who says: “You are My                                                                         ______________!”                                        You are His beloved…He died on                                                     the cross for    ______! III.  CHALLENGE FOR THIS YEARS’ WORSHIP A.  Be Intentional B.  Worship with a _____________ Heart C.  Talk & laugh and fellowship with your friends…but also help them and __________ them to connect with God.    D.  Remember that you will hear God best in times of quiet & stillness- E.  KNOW & HEAR GOD’S BLESSING- You are God’s ____________loved-one.

D.  Never Forget the Rest of His Promise- He will ______ again… 1.  Simeon and Anna stood out for their confidence in God…they believed his promises would happen. 2.  A final consolation of Israel is also promised- those who know Him and believe in Him     3.  Don’t be one of those who misses out on the     greatest fulfillment
